Learn how the American Red Cross can assist a business in every phase of creating an automated external defibrillation (AED) program. Participants will learn about first aid, CPR, AEDs and OSHA recommendations for safety training and safety products in the workplace. Event is in partnership with the Lake County Safety Council and is sponsored by Phillips.

DIBS is a network of local downsized professionals and executives who started their own businesses. The network provides business and emotional support to new entrepreneurs, resources for business start-up and resources for business growth and development. In addition, the group provides assistance with developing a business plan.
Meetings are held every Wednesday at 8:30 a.m. at Seekers Coffee shop, 9443 Mentor Ave., Mentor. Agendas consist of roundtable discussions, guest speakers and presentations by members.
Membership fees are the cost of coffee and pastry.

Join the Painesville Area Chamber of Commerce for a "Partnership in Training" opportunity. This two-session, five-hour class is $25 for chamber members and meets two days.
Beginner Facebook session will be on the first date (second date is Aug. 2). Class participants should bring a flash drive with your company logo, photos, graphics, etc. Access to the Internet will be available.

Speakers: Mike Clark and Steve Orlando, Cell-A-Spot. Mike and Steve were born and raised in Mentor. Steve was the earlier entrepreneur greatly influenced by Gary Schoeniger of the Entrepreneurial Learning Initiative. As a college student, Steve started a parking lot cleaning company and built it to more than a dozen clients. Mike and Steve formed a band together a few years ago, and that’s when Mike brought the Cell-A-Spot idea to Steve. Cell-A-Spot has the potential to revolutionize the cell phone industry. Mike and Steve will tell this amazing story of how they started the company and where they are today.
