PLEASE DELIVER ME, LET ME EAT: No time to run out for a bite or simply too lazy to leave the office? DeliverMeFood.com, a delivery service that picks up meals from restaurants and delivers them to your home or office, is a great way to get food delivered. Order online at DeliverMeFood.com or call in your order. The average delivery takes about 45 minutes to an hour depending on how close you are to the restaurant and driving conditions. The food delivery service is celebrating five years in business in Lake County. Owner Quentin Piotrowski says since he opened he has seen business increase from 15 to 18 percent each year. In the beginning he received one to three orders a day; he now sees an average of 10 orders daily. Piotrowski says he paid off the franchise in two and a half years, moving from the living room of his home to an office in a separate building on the property. He receives orders from homes, businesses and pharmaceutical reps ordering for area hospitals. He and partner Barry Bornstein just opened a new franchise territory in the Eastlake, Wickliffe and Willowick area. Look for them in the Mardi Gras Parade in Fairport Harbor this year. The main franchise of Delivermefood.com, started by Dave Umina, is celebrating its 13th anniversary this year.
Catering a business meeting? Delivermefood.com delivers food for company meetings, working late, office parties and day-to-day lunch and dinner. Menus are online at, you guessed it, Delivermefood.com or call 440-367-5660.
STONE STEAK: Steak on a Stone will open a new restaurant in Willoughby. Located in the Willoughby Commons Shopping Center on Euclid Avenue, the restaurant will be the third for the privately held chain in Northeast Ohio. The restaurant is slated to open sometime in mid summer. The chain is known for its steaks, seafood and other entrees that are cooked by the customer on their own 750-degree volcanic stone right at their table. The restaurants also specialize in authentic Greek cuisine utilizing family recipes from the owners who are of Greek decent. The locations also feature Sunday brunches.
Other locations are in North Olmsted and Copley. Visit www.steakonastone.us for more info.
DELIVERING ITALIAN: Campola’s Pizza and Subs opened at 7224 Center St. in Mentor, not far from Yours Truly. As you might think by the name, owner Nicole Campola and manager Richard McCullough serve up homemade specialty pizzas and subs, as well as salads, hot dogs and chili. McCullough says everything is homemade, traditional Italian. They are hoping to be full service by fall and plan to add lasagna and other pastas to the menu. Right now the restaurant offers pick-up and delivery only. A dining room and deck are on the wish-list for fall. A grand opening is in the works for the end of June. Place orders by calling 440-290-8676 or e-mailing CampolasPizza@yahoo.com.
