           Lake County, Ohio's smallest county, offers a large selection of fresh, affordable, unique, premiere meeting space and conference hotels just 20 minutes east of Cleveleand off Interstate 90.
           Meeting planners seeking new venues to bolster attendance and meeting productivity can select from the ttotally renovated $17 million Renaissance Quail Hollow Resort with two championship designer 18-hole golf courses to a Frank Lloyd Wright Vacation House for smaller board meetings.
           Lake County features hotels like the award-winning Holiday Inn Express Hotel & Suites LaMalfa in Mentor, with an adjoining 60,000 square-foot conference center with many breakout features. Not far from LaMalfa's two new hotels are under construction - a four-stoury Hampton Inn anda Value Inn. Nearby is the stablished Residence Inn by Marriott, creating a conference cluster of hotel and meeting space.
           Also in Mentor is a boutique, 50-room Lawnfield Inn & Suites with a Best Western flag, offering a B&B ambience near the James A. Garfield National Historic Site. For a relaxed retreat, consider Wildwood, a restored, elegant country mansion in a park setting in Mentor.
           The Radisson Hotel & Suites Cleveland/Eastlake is finishing a $1.7 million renovation, offering 18,000 square feet of flexible meeting and banquet space plus a grand ballroom with 5,644 square feet of space. The Holiday Inn East in Wickliffe offers 10,000 square feet of meeting and banquet space.
           Additional smaller, recently opened hotels like AmeriHost Inn & Suites and Comfort Inns cater to equestrian guests affiliated with Lake Erie College. These hotels as well as venerable B&B's like Fitzgerald's and Rider's Inn, both in Painesville, attract corporate transient business and round out a variety of new and renovated hotels in Lake County.
           Lake County offers the $27 million Lake County Captains Classic Park in Eastlake for group outings that can't be matched for fun. The state-of-the-art, Class A Cleveland Indians affiliate stadium features luxury loges, distinctive pcinic/seating sections and catering.
           For smaller retreats, board meetings and special events, the Lake County region offers Ohio's largest concentration of wineries. Debonne Vineyards offers an enclosed pavilion seating 140 or an elgant private wine-tasting/meeting room with a fireplace, wine barrels and cozy ambiance. Nearby Ferrante Winery & Ristorante and Grand River Cellars povide a cluster of vineyards with private meeting space.
           Lake Metroparks offers an array of scenic meetings and special event settings, from Lake Metroparks Farmpark to the renovated Pine Ridge Country Club and Golf Course.
           Holden Arboretum, one of the USA's largest, features a new, breathtaking meeting room with a glass wall vista onto the gardens. Holden's Lantern Coutr Mansion has a just-renovated atrium setting perfect for meetings and events with gardens and patio settings, all with catering options.
           Mooreland Mansion, also recently renovated, is a grand mansion with state-of-the-art conference and catering facilities on the tranquil setting of Lakeland Community College in Kirtland.
           Quite a bit of business, as well as relaxation, happens on the links and in the clubhouse. Lake County has the largest concentration of designer/championship courses in Ohio. Most have meeting facilities and catering available. Lake County even has the USA's only youth regulation course, Little Thunder in Madison, geared toward youth and family occasions.
           Lake County's distinctive restaurants, including Gavi's, Molinari's, Bistro 70, Pickle Bill's, John Palmer's, Sawyer House, Rider's Inn and the Willoughby Brewing Company, offer private meeting rooms and exquisite cuisine.
           For further relaxation, Lake County has an experienced group of Lake Erie charter captains for trophy fishing on the east side of Lake Erie.
